Hackers taken control over the Twitter accounts of the New York Post and United Press International briefly on Friday. They controlled the News agency’s website also.

One tweet on UPI's feed said that the Pope said World War III had begun and on the New York Post's business section Twitter feed said that Bank of America's CEO was calling for calm after a Federal Reserve decision.

The New York Post, which is owned by News Corp., said that the hack is being investigated. According to the spokeswoman of the Post, Jenny Tartikoff, The hackers manipulated some information.

While, Washington based UPI, said its Twitter account and website were hacked. Six fake headlines were posted to its Twitter account, and a 'breaking news' banner with a fake story about the Federal Reserve was posted to its homepage. UPI's technology support team shut down the access to hackers and settled the issue.

The hackers gaining more command on the twitter and youtube handlers of major entities and important personalities. Recent Twitter and YouTube accounts of the US military's Central Command were hacked by the alleged ISIS extremists. And Crayola’s X-rated posts by the hackers created nuisance.

The White House is pushing for new cybersecurity legislation for tackling the hackings. The legislation increases the sharing of information between US agencies and the private sector and protects businesses from lawsuits for revealing cyberthreats.
