A mock drill for checking the preparedness of the police force on Terrorism, became controversial, after Congress party, termed the depiction of terrorists as persons of one religion by wearing them skull caps and raising ‘pro-Islam’ slogans by the dummy terrorists. Congress took the chance to say administrative failure by the Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel.

This Anti-Terror Mock drill was conducted in Dobari coastal region of Surat to check the preparedness of the police, in which the dummy terrorists were shown as belonging to one particular community and later the Superintendent of Police of Surat (Ruaral), Pradeep Sejul and CM Anadiben Patel have acknowledged the mistake of projecting the terrorists from one particular group.

The Gujarat Police is conducting the Mock drills across the state to check the preparedness of police department, in some videos of these mock drills some dummy terrorists raised slogans belonging to one particular religion and their appearance also making controversies.
BJP party’s minority wing president Mehboob Ali Sufi Baba also condemned the Anti-Mock Drill’s linking the terrorism with one religion. This kind of action by the police officials will defame the government and leads to face severe protests from the affected and misinterpreted groups. However police officials of Kevadia and Surat informed the media and common people that they will do enquiry on the wrong actions of poilice and other involved persons.
