So far six bodies, including a woman wearing Attendant's uniform recovered, according to Indonesia Search and Rescue Agency Chief Bambang Soelistyo. According to sources search process is going on for recovering the bodies from the Java Sea where the flight QZ8501 had crashed, but rains and winds are preventing the search operation. On Tuesday, the number of recovered bodies varied by different officials- some navy officials said that 40 bodies had been recovered, and some announced it as three and some said it as above three. Total 155 passengers and 7 crew members were on board believed to be killed in the crash.
Professional divers were deployed to recover the bodies and US navy will send one more ship to fasten the recovery process.
The Airbus A320 carrier went missing while going from Surabaya to Singapore carrying 155 passengers including 137 adults, 17 children and one infant. On Tuesday it is confirmed crash in Java Sea on Sunday, and the bodies and crashed plane’s parts are floating (or marked) in the Karimata strait, south-west of Pankalan Bun in the Borneo province of Central Kalimantan.
Malaysia, Australia and Thailand are assisting the search process and US’ destroyer USS Sampson has been searching for the bodies.
