Travellers to and from India stranded at airports between june 2012 and November 2014, due to fake and un authorised passports and air tickets taken from mediators. Most of these mediators or agents are from Pakisthan.
The accused were identified as: Sumit Chawla, 42; Sarfraz Khan, 51, of Queens; Shah Nawaz Kiani, 29, of Pakistan; Sadaqat Ali, 48, of the Bronx; Mohammad Asif, 32, of Pakistan; Chaudhary Mohammad Arif, 56, of Brooklyn; Zubair Dar, 49, of Queens;Rana Mohammad Tariq, 32, of Brooklyn; and Manjeet Singh, 40, of Queens.
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., Vance.said “This alleged scheme left a pregnant woman stranded during a multi-part trip, forced relatives to miss a family wedding abroad, and made it impossible for a son to visit his cancer-stricken father in India,”
These agents betrayed all the passengers and travellers in all matters including wrong offers, money, time, and even in assistance. They’ve collected cheques and money from the travellers and used fake and stolen credit cards for processing their tickets and plans.
For this fraudelent case in New York Supreme court all the above mentioned agents and travellers booked for crime in of first and second degree respectively.
