Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit Gujarat today, and going by the special arrangements, things are likely to be special when he returns home.
This is going to be Mr. Modi's first visit to his home state since he took over the Prime Minister's chair four months ago.
Incidentally, his visit coincides with the time when the Gujarat by-election results, including that of the Vadodara Lok Sabha and Maninagar Assembly seats, is going to be declared. The BJP is hoping to retain all of the 10 seats for which the by-elections were held.
Modi, who will put up in the state for two days, will arrive a day ahead of the prestigious visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Gujarat's commercial capital Ahmedabad.
So the state BJP unit is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that not only Modi as well as BJP national president Amit Shah, but also Chinese President gets a warm welcome.
Gujarat has personally looked after the arrangements of things.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has shelled out a whopping Rs 10 crore to deck up the city ahead of the high-profile visits.
On Tuesday, Modi will be felicitated at a function held in Gandhinagar. The Chief Minister and her Cabinet colleagues, party office bearers, MPs and MLAs, municipal councillors from Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot and Vadodara and presidents of district panchayats will grace the event.
The Prime Minister will announce several welfare and public service initiatives of the Gujarat Government on September 17 during the felicitation to be held at Mahatma Mandir.
