Germany have won the FIFA World Cup 2014 with 1-0 score over Argentina at Rio de Janeiro's Maracana Stadium. This is the first world cup win for Germany in 24 years and it is their fourth overall trophy. Both teams failed to score a goal in the full time and the umpires have decided to extend the match by half-an-hour.

When the play is only seven minutes to end, Germany's midfielder Mario Gotze struck at the Argentina's goal post at 113th minute which gave Germany an advantage. From here Argentina tried its best to level the score but it wasn't possible. Argentina's Messi, missed a golden opportunity and a free kick too. Fans of Germany celebrated like never before while Argentina's players and fans were completely disappointed.

Mario Gotze walked away with 'Man of the Match' award, Lionel Messi won the 'Golden Ball' trophy while Germany's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer received 'Golden Glove' award.
