A Chicago woman got the best birthday gift of her life – a $4 million dollar check. Diane Jenkins had picked two Fabulous Fortune lottery tickets on March 4 on the way to her home from office.

The 55-year-old woman's stopover at the gas station had proved to be really lucky. One of her tickets had the winning number.

Diane, who has been working for the U.S. Postal Service for almost 20 years, says that she scratched the first ticket and there was no prize. Then she scratched the second ticket and saw the lucky number on her ticket.

The single mother of two handed over the ticket to the clerk and asked her to check the numbers. The smile of the clerk told her that she had indeed won the $4 million dollar check.

According to a statement from the Illinois Lottery, Jenkins said that she felt that she had thanked her four million times.

The lucky winner revealed her plans to share the winning amount with her two children and invest the rest for her retirement.

The lottery store will receive 1% of the prize poney that amounts to $40,000.
