Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher may have been known as the 'iron lady' but she was also conscious about her looks. Thatcher apparently visited her hairstylist 120 times, according to reports based on her appointment diary.
The former British PM visited her hairdresser once in three days on an average if she visited her stylist 120 times in 1984, reveals an analysis of Thatcher's appointments diary. The report was released by Britain's National Archives under Thatcher's 30-year tenure. According to The Telegraph, the former PM's styling probably involved use of Carmen heated rollers. During her term in office, the diary was maintained by a staff member.
Margaret Thatcher's personal style involving sharp suits, perfectly coiffed hair and trademark handbags were as popular as her style of politics. The revealation of her documents shows that a lot went into the maintenance of the iconic image of Thatcher. She had been the PM of Britain from 1979 to 1990 and died when she was 87 years last April.
