Treasure hunters across the globe, have been for long, shoveling down earth for troves of hidden gold.
But not all gold diggers can claim to be as lucky as the 72-year-old Gary Holt who has unearthed the legendary billions-worth old Spanish mine in the mountains of northeastern Utah, abandoned by Spanish Jesuit priests in 1680 during the Peublo Indian revolution.
Apparently, Gary opines that the $1.7billion bonanza that has been lying dormant for more than three centuries now is the much-fabled Josephine de Martinque mine at Hoyt's Peak in the Uinta Mountains. According to the legends, the Lost Josephine Mine was the richest gold mine in the world.
Gary is now awaiting federal government permission to dig deeper and claim his prize.
He hasn't found gold inside the cave yet, but has managed to pull out millions of dollars worth calcite crystals — Goldite— that could be sold off a semi-precious gem stones.
