As torrential rains continue to lash the city of Mumbai, BMC has warned people not to step out of their homes unless necessary.

Parts of the city are water-logged and harbor line services on Central Railway have been temporarily disrupted. The Western Line trains are delayed by 8 to 10 minutes while the Central Line trains are running 15 minutes late. Even the city traffic has been badly affected.

As the MET Department forecasts heavy showers today, all disaster management agencies, relief and rescue operations in the city have been put on high alert.

As per the sources, areas in and around Colaba have recieved158.6 millimeters of rain in the last 20 hours, while Santa Cruz posted a rainfall of 168.6 millimeters of rainfall since Tuesday. Parts of Hindmata, Grant Road, Napean Sea Road and Lokhandwala Complex are swamped.

Following the incessant rainfall, the temperature has plummeted to a minimum of 22 degree Celsius . City schools have been shut down and fisherman has been warned not to venture in the sea, as heavy rainfall is expected along the Konkan Coast in the next 3 days.
