Jr NTR's much awaited Ramayya Vasthavayya showed a lot of fizz before the release but fizzled out after just the first weekend. Director Harish Shankar has received quite a bit of criticism but says he is not one to hide when the situation invites more brickbats than boquets.
"Logging in when there is appreciation and logging out when there is criticism is not my style," he tweeted. His words hold a deper meaning as it shows the hurt behind the sarcasm. Some say he might be taking a dig a Ram Charan for abondoning the social networking site when he experienced his first flop.
Though Jr NTR and Shruti Hassan received many compliements for RV, the film itself faced the heat of many a disappointed viewer. The most disappointed are the girls who wanted to check out a romantic comedy but instead received fight upon fight that they couldn't digest. Though some are saying he brought down some of his Gabbar Singh credibility with Ramayya Vasthavayya, Harish Shankar is not accepting defeat yet.
Still, there is a silver lining to this story. Taran Adarsh posted a few figures that seemed to have made the director very happy. “Telugu film RamayyaVastavayya - USA - opening weekend - $ 342,448 [Rs 2.11 cr]. Reported screens only. Final total could be much higher,” the analyst announced. Harish Shankar, looking at the bright side, thanked Taran profusely. He seems to say all is not lost, even as viwers are trashing the film with fervor.
