Our life will get inertia if we have a proper purpose, otherwise people habituate for just living. Aiming for a desired or dreamed place/position will add fuel to the life journey. We can have short term goals, which can be achieved early and within a specific period, and long term goals, which takes longer time or even decades, but gives complete meaning to the life once attained.
According to Thomas Carlyle, A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder. Which means the goals are driving force and steering of life. If we do not have a goal, there will be no clarity on the future and present as in the case of a boat in the centre of the sea.
To have a good spice in life we should aim for the best and different, so that we can continually strive for such roles, places and companies. Even in business firms – employer or management should have strategies to be in top position to regain the investment and efforts, and employee should have a goal to prove his best and get elevation in the position.
