Xiaomi unveiled their flagship phablet today, the Mi note, at a press conference in Beijing. Unlike the more cost effective RedMi Note, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun says the phone has been built to take on Apple's iPhone 6 Plus.

The phablet will be available in variations, Note and Note Pro. The Mi Note is sporting with a 5.7" full HD display with curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Interestingly, the back of the phablet is also Gorilla Glass 3, and sides are made up if something the company has called 3D Glass, and with a wider curve than the front. It's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with a 2.5GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 330 GPU, straddled by 3GB RAM and 16 GB storage, expandable to 64GB.

The phone supports dual sim cards, and 4G. The Mi Note also has a 13MP rear cam with optical image stabilization, and a 4MP front cam, but with a larger 2 micron pixel size, for better selfies in low light. Xiaomi also says that though it's device is slimmer than the iPhone 6 Plus, it doesn't feature a protuding housing for the rear camera.

The phablet also has 24-bit/192KHz lossless audio playback, and supports APE, FLAC, DSD and WAV lossless formats. Pair all that with a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0, as well as the new MIUI 6 OS, and you should be able to power use this baby through your day, no problem. Mi Note Pro comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, octa-core processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 2K display, and it'll retail at around US $530.

The Mi Note will cost at US $371, no news on it's entry into India yet. Let us wait and see how the latest Mi note from Xiaomi will compete with with Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus.
