Apple is in talks aimed to get hold of content for a pay-television service, technology news website Re/code. The California-based maker of iPhones, iPads, iPods, Macintosh computers and Apple TV boxes is exploring the potential for deals. Apple is aiming to model a service after the recent moves by Dish and Sony to work with programmers to deliver live TV shows along with the kind of on-demand video just cable companies sell.
It has made several attempts at finding a key to the television market, including marketing an Apple TV box for routing content from the Internet to home screens. Apple is working on new music-streaming service which will integrate with Beats Music. It will “deeply integrate Beats into iOS, iTunes, and the Apple TV,” and launch a new music app with Beats infused in it. This will be a new arena for Apple to develop.
