Lava on Tuesday released a new smartphone Iris Fuel 60 specialised in a long standing battery life to help mobile users to work for longer hours without frequent charging. Iris Fuel 60 may come for 8,888. This piece is second in Lava's range of smartphones designed for longer battery life.

With Iris Fuel 60, the aim of this mobile helps users to ignore regular charging, he added. The handset comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display, 1.3 GHz quad core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory (expandable up to 32GB). 4,000 mAh battery makes the phone long stand, the device operates with Android KitKat andcan also be upgraded to the latest Android Lollipop in future. It has a 10MP main and 2MP front camera.

"With smartphones becoming part and parcel of everyday life, battery life has become a matter of concern for smartphone users," Lava International Vice President & Head Product, Navin Chawla told reporters. "The battery allows users up to 32 hours of talktime on 2G without a need to charge the phone. The phone is also equipped with quick charge technology that restricts the charging time to 3 hours 15 minutes," he added.

This handset also features a "solder-less" manufacturing technology where each component is connected to PCBA via connectors, unlike regular and ongoing smartphones where manual soldering is used. This shows impact in lesser defects and makes it easier for service engineers in case of any fault.

India is one of the fastest growing smartphone market in Asia Pacific region, envisaging a growth of 84% year-on-year in the April-June 2014 period.Korean handset maker Samsung leads the Indian smartphone market with 29% of total share, followed by indian Micromax at 18%, Karbonn at 8% and Lava at 6% of total share.
