Samsung's big hype over its brand new Tab S is totally justified. After all, it's no run of the mill Tab refresh that Samsung has been lobbing at us year after year. The Tab S affirms why Samsung is deemed as the best in the biz. With tighter hardware and software controls, the new Samsung tablet is no less than Apple's latest offering, iPad Air.

Samsung's Tab is noticeably richer and punchier. In fact, it's a brand new display is its biggest talking point. The 8.4 and 10.5 models are pretty much identical spec for spec save for the battery size. Both the models are lighter and thinner than Apple’s offerings, have IR blasters and the same 8MP rear camera and 2.2MP front facing.

Two of the newest software additions are the SideSync 3.0 and Remote PC. SideSync actually allows you to create a virtual image of your S5 on the Tab S and lets you use all the functions as if you were physically using the phone. Both devices connect over Wi-Fi Direct which allows you to transfer files in good speed. The UI is also quick and fluid.

Priced aggressively, both the Tab 10.5 and Tab 8.4 start at $499 and $399 respectively, for the 16GB, Wi-Fi only models, Samsung is ruthlessly invading Apple’s turf by offering a thinner, lighter and a better spec’d tablet with a similar look and feel and for the same price. Whoa!

Not just that, Samsung has also thrown in a whole bunch of freebies by signing up exclusive partnerships with Marvel, Conde Nast, Netflix and many more. Apple's surely got some stiff competition ahead!
