Ever dreamt of a day when you could pay for your meal not through cash or check, but a food selfie? No? We guessed so.
A newly set pop-up diner in London is trying to cash in on the trend of “food selfies” by letting the diners settle the bill for a pic of their meal on their profile. Yes, you heard that right!
The world’s first pay-by-picture restaurant — The Picture House — which opens to the public in London today is one such place that will allow its customers to pay for its premium, newly-launched two-course meal by Instagramming, Facebooking or tweeting the photos along with the #BirdsEyeInspirations hashtag. Now that's a truly incredible way to make a buzz, isn't it?

The Birds Eye ( http://www.birdseye.co.uk/en-uk/fresh-ideas/food-of-life/ ), the international brand of frozen foods, surveyed and found that in today's digital world, a whopping 52 per cent of people took photos of their meals. According to Webstagram (http://web.stagram.com/ ), there are over 90 million pictures of 'food' on Instagram.
The Picture House restaurant is a part of Birds Eye's 'Food of Life' campaign, which celebrates real food and the way real people eat and interact at meal times.

Birds Eye marketing director, Margaret Jobling said: ‘Taking photos of food enables people to show off and to share their meal time moments - from the everyday to the very special. We wanted to tap into this trend and create a new reason for people to talk about and sample our Inspirations range.’
Well-thought, indeed!
