The new Samsung Galaxy S5 is not just another smart addition to the company's hit series of smartphones, but a lot more. With a wad of innovative features going for it like water resistance, a heart rate sensor and a fingerprint reader to bypass security passcodes, the new phone seems to be a worthy investment for all who can afford it.

With a screen-size as big as 5.1 inches, the new phone is slightly larger than its predecessor and much bigger than its competitor the iPhone. Also, compared to Galaxy S4, the S5 camera can take 16 megapixel images, an improvement from 13 megapixels.

The most notable things, however, is Samsung’s wisdom in simplifying the features of the phone and sticking to the ones that people would actually want. In the new smartphone, Samsung chose to play down or omit many of S4′s complex and less user-friendly features, rearranging the settings and layouts more convenient and easy to use.

Even the phone’s interface has been simplified. That said, unlike Apple's iPhone or other Android phones, the S5 is still more complex to use, but the good news is that can customize it in more ways than you need, including the ability to unlock a phone by drawing a pattern on the screen rather than using a passcode.

There aren't any significant shortcomings about the new phone. Or should we say there’s more to like about Samsung S5 than not. Agreed, the S5 isn’t the only good smartphone out there, but it had enough to add on as another feather of success in Samsung's hat.
