Serena Williams has beaten Maria Sharapova in Australian Open to win her 19th Grand Slam title, of which six are Australian Open titles.
Williams, who was suffering from cold and cough, remained the oldest winner of the Australian women's title in the Open era Saturday night.
Top-ranked Williams returned from the break and fired an ace to start a run of six straight points. She was broken while serving for the set but broke Sharapova for a third time to clinch it.
Williams' six Australian titles are in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010 and the fresh 2015. Williams victories has included two victories in finals against Sharapova, who won at Melbourne Park in 2008.
