The whole nation is excited about Vaibhav Sooryavanshi possibly making his first appearance for the senior team during the T20I tour of Ireland and England. Sooryavanshi has already surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record by being selected for the India T20I team, but he is currently occupied with the India A team in Sri Lanka for a series involving three nations. While there is talk about his likely senior India debut later this month in Ireland, a problem has arisen because of ongoing community issues in the country. The Inter-Provincial T20 Festival in Lisburn has been canceled, and Cricket Ireland announced that they will decide about Sunday's Irish Senior Cup and National Cup matches within the next two days. If things do not calm down, the series between Ireland and India might also be at risk. "Cricket Ireland is keeping a close watch on the current situation in areas facing community problems and will announce a decision within 48 hours about this Sunday's Irish Senior Cup and National Cup matches," Cricket Ireland mentioned in a statement.
"We are in constant discussions with the necessary officials and our provincial unions. The safety of players, coaches, match officials, and fans is our top priority in our discussions. We will provide more updates as soon as we have them," the statement added. A report from Dainik Jagran has indicated that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is also observing the situation in Ireland. The board might consider moving matches away from Belfast if things do not get better. After some outstanding performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 for the Rajasthan Royals, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has shown a different style in one-day cricket for India A. In a match against Afghanistan A on Thursday, Sooryavanshi hit 44 runs off 22 balls before getting out, without hitting a single six.
Unlike the IPL, where the 15-year-old often scored with sixes, his performance against Afghanistan was more controlled, allowing him to play more grounded shots. Despite Sooryavanshi's strong effort, India A lost to Afghanistan A in the game.
