Come September 2014, and the world will once against see the big leagues of Bollywood like Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor queue up for auction saled as the Indian Super League (ISL) football teams goes under the hammer.

Besides the top-notch B-town stars, 30 other business firms including top I-league clubs Bengaluru FC and Salgaocar SC are eying to buy the eight-team ISL which promises big-ticket action in various centres across the country.

"The last date to pick up the bid documents, at a cost of Rs 5 lakh, ended on Friday. The list of interested parties includes Bollywood biggies Abhishek Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and John Abraham. Other IPL teams in the fray are Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils and the Sunrisers Hyderabad," sources said.

Even cricket icons like Sunil Gavaskar and Sourav Ganguly are in the ISL fray, we hear.

Just putting the best bid forward (base price being Rs 12 crore) might not be enough for any of the contenders to win a franchise as the Ernst & Young team will also assess the applicants based on parameters like facilities, funding etc, before a deal is sealed.

"Each team will have to present a five-year agenda to develop grassroots talent in their city.”
