Prescott Conway had promished his dying mother that one day he woulf become a state wrestling champion. The Gilbert wrestler from Williams Field High, a Higley district school may have to wait for some more time to fulfill the promise he made to his dying mother six years ago.
At that time Conway was 12 years old. At 18 now, the teenaged boy was close to keeping his promise to his mother. But he was held back by a disqualificatin due to possible skin infection.
Prescott, who is a high-school senior currently, has scored an impressive 49-2 record this season posted at Williams Field High. He is Arizona's top-rank wrestler at his weight class and was all set to go for the state tournament this month.
However, before the state tournament, the promising Gilbert wrestler had contracted ringworm on his neck and the Arizona Interscholastic Association disqualified him. So the happy ending to Prescott Conway's story has to wait for some more time. However, the young wrestler is positive and has high hopes that things would be better in future.
