India's top seed and ace shuttler Saina Nehwal is back in league with a grand win.
Snapping her 15 months title drought, the London Olympics bronze medallist bagged the India Grand Prix Gold badminton crown with a straight-game victory over compatriot and second seed PV Sindhu in the women's singles competition in Lucknow on Sunday.
World no. 8 player cinched the $120,000 Syed Modi International India Grand Prix Gold tournament by defeating her young colleague by 21-14 21-17 in the women's singles summit clash, which lasted 40 minutes at the Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium here.
The home tournament provided Saina the much-needed platform to end her title drought. The Indian had not won a title in more than a year.
