More pride for the nation! India's Kabaddi team has cinched the World Cup again, for the fourth consecutive year in a row, by pitting down their favorite foe Pakistan in the final match played in Ludhiana last Saturday.
India capped it off with a win against Pakistan by 9 points. The hosts were just two points (23-21) ahead during the half-time, but took a massive lead in the the second-half began, defeating Pakistan by 48-39.
Besides, the winner’s trophy, the Indian team was awarded a cash prize of Rs two crore while runners-up Pakistan got Rs one crore. The best raider and stopper of the game, both from the Indian team, were presented tractors.
Both India and Pakistan will co-host the next edition of the World Cup Kabaddi to foster goodwill, brotherhood and friendship between the two nations.
The Indian women's team also won the world kabaddi championship by beating Denmark in the final in Ludhiana on Saturday
