Trying to give a fitting and spirited reply to the Sri Lankan huge score of 642 for 4 declared in its first innings in the second cricket test of the 3-test series being played Colombo, India made 382 for four in their first innings at the end of third day’s play on Wednesday.

Sachin Tendulkar with 108 and Suresh Raina with 66 were at the crease when stumps were drawn. Earlier, Indian opener Virender Sehwag missed a century when he was out for 99. Hyderabadi stylish batsman VVS Lakshman made 29 before he was trapped by Ajantha Mendis. Murali Vijay was out for 58.
