Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli fined 100 percent of their Match Fee

Over the breach of conduct during an IPL match held in Lucknow on May 1st in between Royal Challengers (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) both the players Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir have been fined 100 percent of their match fees as a fine.LSG’s Afghan bowler Naveen-ul-Haq was also fined 50% of his match fee for heated arguments between Virat Kohli during the match.

Virat Kohli's fee was calculated by his contract team RCB, which of around Rs 1.5Cr, while LSG dint revealed Gautam Gambhir’s fee, which was estimated at Rs 25L.

There was a heated argument between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, which is against the IPL Code of Conduct 2023. This is admitted as an offense under Article 2.21 of IPL. According to the IPL Code of Conduct, 2.21 prohibits inappropriate comments which are detrimental to the interest of the game.

Based on this rule, a 100 percent match fee for that particular match was fined. Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were admitted to Level 2 offense under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
