Indian women’s cricket team reaches their Maiden Final in T20 World Cup

The unbeaten run of the team India in the group stage has helped them to sail into their maiden Women’s T20 World Cup final after the semi- final clash between India and England has washed out at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.

The Cricket Australia’s last minute request for a reserve day for the semi- finals has been denied by the ICC where in it means that if either or both the semis were abandoned then the teams which have topped the group would be progressing to the finals.

The teams of India and Australia have been progressed to the final.

India is said to face Australia which has been the winner of the second semi- final between Australia and South Africa, in the final.

The team India which has been led by Harmanpreet Kaur had topped the Group A with four victories in in as many matches. It has been said that the team India did not look back after stunning defending the champions Australia in the opener of the tournament and the Indian team has registered comprehensive wins against the teams of Bangladesh, New Zealand and Sri Lanka in order to enter the semi- finals with great confidence.


Virat Kohli who is the captain of Indian men cricket team has reacted to the news and has congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team.


The Indian women’s cricket team has paved its way to the finals by defeating the team Australia on the 21st of February, won over Bangladesh on the 24th of February, beat New Zealand on the 27th of February, defeated the team of Sri Lanka on the 29th of February and the semi finals which has been scheduled for the 5th of March has been called off due to persistent rain in Sydney

The finals of the T20 World Cup has been scheduled for the 8th of March.
