Magical fielding from all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and a clinical show by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowlers saw them pull off a 12-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here on Sunday. This win took the CSK to the play-offs and they are now at the top of the table with 16 points.
Chasing 158 to win after a disciplined bowling, RR batsmen failed to keep the chase on the tracks and kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. Some sensational catches taken by Bravo didn't help them either. Shane Watson (28) was the highest scorer for the RR while Ravindra Jadeja was the wrecker-in-chief for the CSK with 4 for 11 in 4 overs. The latter was picked as the man of the match.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) toiled in their home ground to post 157/5 against a disciplined Rajasthan Royals (RR) bowling attack at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here on Sunday night.
Opener Brendon McCullum was the highest scorer for the CSK with 81 from 61 balls (7X4s, 4X6s). Francois du Plessis, who scored 29 off 25 balls (3x4s), was the second-highest scorer.
McCullum It was a brief late flourish from captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (13 off 8 balls) and all-rounder Dwayne Bravo (15 off 7 balls) that the CSK managed to go past 150. ms-dhoni.
For the RR, Chris Morris was the best of the bowlers with 3 wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs. Both teams have 14 points at the moment with the RR playing a game more. Whoever win today will confirm a last-four berth and go to the top of the points table, replacing defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders.
