If the current buzz is anything to go by, then the former captain of Team India Rahul Dravid might return to the team again, as it's coach.

That's right! Rahul Dravid, who assisted Team India as the batting consultant during its England tour, is being coaxed to take up the key role now.

The decision comes after Ravi Shastri's appointment as the Director of the Indian cricket team. Apparently, BCCI isn't too keen on continuing with Duncan Fletcher as the team's coach after it's dismal Test series performance against England.

"Fletcher himself has to decide what his future will be. He is a professional and we are paying him a good amount. So it is natural to expect big results from him. We don't doubt his cricketing knowledge but we need someone who can also communicate well with the boys and also motivate them to become mentally tougher. We have options when it comes to appointing new coaching staff. Enough feelers have been sent to Fletcher in the last meeting and the BCCI will be expecting him to resign after England tour.”

The Indian cricket board now seems to want Rahul Dravid to coach team India. The council wants Rahul, who is currently involved with Rajasthan Royals, to be a permanent mentor for the Indian team.

They deem that Rahul understands players like nobody else and the players respect him too.

BCCI intends to appoint him as the coach during the home series against West Indies as well as during the Australia tour.

Fielding coach Joe Dawes and Trevor Penney are already on the brink of getting sacked and even Fletcher's future with Indian cricket team seems bleak.
