The Nawab of Najafgarh might be out of BCCI's favor for now, but he is being favored by the Congress party who wants the right-handed batsman to bat for one of their electoral seats on South Delhi constituency.
Nevertheless, Virender Sehwag isn't too game for it. Denying all reports of joining politics, Sehwag declared on Twitter: "I m not contesting election, I don't know why media is running this story...."
Soon after Sehwag's tweet, discarded England cricketer Kevin Pietersen re-tweeted, saying: "You should! I would vote for you..."
Sehwag's name emerged in the poll fray after highly placed sources reported that Congress was keen on fielding the Nawab of Najafgarh from a South Delhi seat.
For your information, Sehwag's sister Anju Meherwal is a municipal councillor from Dakshinpuri Extension ward, which is part of the South Delhi constituency.
