Virender Sehwag will not be a part of Delhi Daredevils for IPL VII, according to reports on Friday. Sehwag had been closely linked with Reliance, who own the Mumbai Indians, as he was employed to them. Reports suggest that MI might take Sehwag as Sachin Tendulkar has retired.

For now, Sehwag's IPL hopes depends upon the Bangalore auctions scheduled for February 12/13. But, Sehwag will have only his reputation to convince the franchises as the Ranji season was miserable and also there is no cricket until the auction. Delhi Daredevils has not retained other star players like Kevin Pietersen, Mahela Jayawardene and Unmukt Chand.

An official close to the Delhi Daredevils team stated that the franchise wants to make a fresh start without any baggage. Jayawardene and Pietersen may have been dropped because of their national commitments, but the team itself was not a happy one last season, the official added.
