Bachchan came to the event straight from the sets of Bhootnath Returns. He said that "I had the honour to meet him twice. He was a very generous and kind man. I had my first concert in South Africa while they were still reeling under Apartheid. And we were the first Indian group to be allowed to perform there, primarily due to the efforts made by Nelson Mandela.
