Indian Film ‘A Gift of Love: Sifar’ Bags over 26 Awards

An Indian film ‘A Gift of Love: Sifar’ which is all set to release on the big screen by the end of the year has bagged more than 26 awards at film festivals around the world.

Directed by Dhruv Sachdev, Sifar is based on O. Henry’s short story ‘The Gift of the Magi’, a beautiful love story between a dreaded gangster and a prostitute.

Sifar stars former Miss Asia Kanika Kapur and Varun Narula, last seen on MTV Love School and as well as veteran actors Anang Desai, Mushtaq Khan, and Sudha Chandran.

The movie has won nine Best Director awards, three Best Actress awards for Kanika and one for Sudha and a Best Supporting Actor Award for Desai at film festivals in Los Angeles, Miami, Venezuela, Chile, London, Berlin, Bhutan, Israel, Rome, Mexico and around India

"Absolutely ecstatic with the way 'Sifar' has performed... There is no better feeling than seeing your film's name on top along with the country of origin as India," said Sachdev.

"Once we close out the festival circuit, we truly wish the film carries the same momentum at the box office as well," he added.

Producer Durgesh Paul expressing his contentment said every department (writing, direction, cinematography, acting, art direction, music or editing) has won an award.
