You don't get a second chance to make your first impression. So also you will not get the opportunity of a second date if you mess up with your first date. The first date is crutial as your special someone will agree to meet you again if you make a positive impression on her. Here are a few tips to be sure that you have a successful first date.

Be a gentleman

Even though we are in the 21st century, ladies still like gentlemen. So watch your manners. Be courteous, speak softly and ask her if she is comfortable. Also be nice to people around you, especially the guy who comes to take orders from you. Show her you are compassionate and have a heart for others as well.

Table manners

Your dinner date is a casual event, but it's no less formal. Remember you are meeting her for dinner or coffee for the first time. Order after consulting her for what she would prefer. Also remember your table manners. Use your hands, napkins and toothpicks with care. She is bound to observe you. Women judge table manners of men and will rate you as a careful or a particular person.

Inclusive conversation

Both of you should be in the conversation. It should not be one-sided. Don't keep speaking without seeking out her opinion or interest in the topic. It would be advisable to let her talk and speak of your opinion in between. Show interest in what she is talking about and also add your bit to it.

Mobile manners

Since you are on a date with her there is no point talking to another person over your phone or texting replies. Give her total attention and keep your phone aside during the time you are with her.

No 'Ex'

Keep you 'Ex' out of the conversation. Only if she asks talk about your Ex girlfriend. And tell her only what she wants to knows. There is no need to talk about your past relation - good or bad – in the first date. You will get plenty of opportunities to explain what went wrong later, if your first date is successful.

Leave no ambiguity

If you like her tell her clearly that you are interested in her. Also specify that you would want to meet her again. Don't be vague it doesn't work in a relationship. If she also expresses interest in you clearly then you can even set a second date with her.
