Meeting your date for the first time? You must be confused about what to wear – casual or formal? What to talk? What to eat? The dilemma is endless. Don't tie yourself in knots. Here are some tips for the first date so that you can make a positive impact.

What to wear

By all means stay away from a new dress or a new pair of shoes. No doubt, the new dress looks wonderful but you haven't tried it out yet. For all you know the skirt might fly up when you walk or your pretty pair of shoes gives blisters and you have a painful scowl on your face. These are small problems, but you definitely don't want to deal with these when you are trying to impress your date.

Be the person you are

Be natural in your appearance and attire. If you normally wear mascara and lip balm on most days then meeting your date for the first time in full makeup can be misleading. What if the date works and there are many more dates. Would you continue to wear makeup or adopt makeup as part of your lifestyle. First date is the complete package you are, at least appearance wise, so stick to what you normally do and are comfortable in.

Display the right attitude

The right attitude prevents awkward moments with your first date. If you decide to wear a T-shirt endorsing a particular band, make sure you have enough knowledge to contribute to a conversation on it. Wearing a head scarf can be tricky as it requires constant readjusting. Your date might think that you have a headache and feel uncomfortable about spending time with you.

Don't text unnecessarily before the date

The first date is about knowing each other. Too much texting before the actual date will remove the element of pleasant surprise. Besides the date may develop high expectation from you, which could be responsible for the date not working into a relationship.
