Why fritter away a fortune on pricey multi-vitamins and unpalatable health drinks when a bowl of nuts is enough to keep you alive and kicking for long.

It has been found that people who snack on nuts regularly live longer than those who don't, with all other factors taken into consideration. Even those who snacked on nuts just once a week had lower mortality rates than others.


Loaded with fibers, anti-carcinogenic antioxidants, essential minerals like copper, iron, magnesium, manganese and zinc, healthy vitamins like B and E and a rich source of omega 3 fatty acids, munching on pistachios, Brazil nuts, peanuts, cashews, almonds and pecans in moderate quantity has been found to stave off the risk of stroke and heard diseases significantly.

But then, like they say: ‘Good things come in small packages” You should always say go for unprocessed nuts and not the salty or dry roasted ones and keep a tab on its consumption too.

Gorging on nuts excessively could end up causing unwanted health complications like increased weight later. So moderation is the key here.

Add some to your morning cereal, grab a handful for mid-day snack or just add it to your smoothies and shakes, there is no dearth of innovative ways to munch on nuts.
