A couple of days back we reported that Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has been approached to play the baddie in Rajinikanth starrer 'Endhiran – Robot 2'. We also told you how Aamir was skeptical about taking up the offer and also how Rajnikanth had been pitched in to convince Mr. Perfectionist. However, as per the current buzz, the report seems to be false.

Shankar, who is all set to start the super-ambitious sequel of 'Endhiran' that starred Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the leads, apparently never approached Aamir Khan to play the baddie's role, we hear. It was just one of the grapevines doing rounds.

Incidentally, Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor were the original choice for Shankar's Tamil flick. However, he had to settle for Rajinikanth and Aishwarya post the Bollywood stars bailed themselves out of the venture, which went on to become the highest ever grosser in Tamil cinema.

Shankar has already kick-started the post-production work of 'Ai' which stars Vikram and Samantha in the lead roles. The Tamil movie is expected to release in a few months from now. The release date is yet to be declared.

Shankar is likely to begin shooting 'Endhiran 2' once he is done with 'Ai'.

Meanwhile, the hunt is on for a baddie to contest against Rajinikanth in the flick.
