Ever fancied seeing two of Indian cinema's greatest stalwarts - Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan together in a frame? If so, then you could be in for a rare celluloid treat.

That's right! For the first time ever South Superstar Thalaivar and Bollywood's very own Mr. Perfectionist could come together in the much-awaited sequel of Shankar's techno thriller "Robot".

And that isn't all. Unlike Rajnikanth, who assayed both the hero and anti-hero roles in the 2010 blockbuster, this time it would be Aamir Khan who might play the big baddie, given that he accepts the deal.

Buzz is that Aamir Khan has turned down the initial offer. Left without a choice, the makers have now approached Rajini sir to convince Aamir to accept the role. So, all the 'Aamir' and 'Rajini' fans, you still run a chance to see the biggies together in the silver screen.

That said, there is still a thick chance that Aamir might turn down Rajinikanth's request. Given that Aamir only opts for flicks with sound storyline and sturdy characterization oriented around him, it's likely that he might want to stay away from a Rajinikanth film where the whole deal is always about the Thalaivar himself. And given his monstrous following, we can't really blame him, can we?

However, if Aamir accepts, it would be indeed interesting to watch the star in a full fledged negative role. Considering that both Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan are box-office superkings, expect “Robot 2” to smash all box-office records, if made. Till then, keeping our fingers crossed.
