Johnson and Johnson's Vaccine Gets Emergency use Authorization in India

Johnson and Johnson, the pharmaceutical giant of USA's coronavirus vaccine received emergency use approval in India as per the statement issued by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. "India expands its vaccine basket! Johnson and Johnson's single-dose COVID-19 vaccine is given approval for Emergency Use in India. Now India has 5 EUA vaccines. This will further boost our nation's collective fight against," posted Mansukh Mandaviya on his twitter page. The vaccination will be brought to India through a supply agreement with the maker Biological E Limited. This will sure turn a huge boost for the vaccination drive in the country.

The official spokesperson of Johnson and Johnson from India too confirmed and announced the news. Johnson and Johnson vaccination will be available in a single dose for all the Indians aged above 18 years. Johnson and Johnson got its approval in a day after it applied for the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). Biological E will play an important role in the supply chain. The studies revealed that Johnson and Johnson is 66 percent effective of moderate to severe illness. It is also 85 percent effective against the severe cases of coronavirus. Johnson and Johnson vaccine completely prevents hospitalization. Apart from Johnson and Johnson, Covishield, Covaxin, Sputnik V and Moderna are the other vaccines available for Indians.
