The Delhi Government reportedly decided foot back on the controversial circular of allowing the inhumane "two-finger test" on the rape survivor to test whether the woman was assaulted.

Amid protests by the women rights activists and human rights associations, Delhi government has distanced itself by saying the action would be taken on those who signed the circular allowing the unscientific examination.

The vaginal examination on rape survivors, has been criticized by the women’s rights activists as that takes away the privacy freedom of a woman. The controversial test, which often performed by male doctors, was actually banned by the central government in 2014 followed by the apex court ruling in 2013.

The two finger test, was dubbed as the violation of the rights of the woman, who suffered brutal assault by men. The test actually examines whether the hymen was present or not, which apparently tells about the virginity.

The Justice Verma committee, which was formed after the brutal Delhi gang rape in Delhi in 2012, to suggest new laws to prevent rapes in India also termed the test as un ethical and inhumane.
