A strong 6.8 magnitude earthquake had shaken the northeastern Japan this morning at 6:12 am (local time). The calamity took place in east coast of Japan's Honshu island in the Pacific Ocean, according to USGS, at a depth of 38.9 kilometres.
However, no Tsunami warnings are issued after this event, the nearest city of the quake affected area was Ofunato.
Japanese islands are considered to be lying on miserable tectonic plates. Nepal has been striken by chronic earthquakes which claimed over 6000 lives and damaged historical monuments and properties.
