Delhi police have arrested Raminder Singh, a 28-year-old man, after receiving a request by UK police department. He was accused in a rape and attempt to murder in Scotland in 2012.
The person was involved in rape and attempt to murder of two young women in Scotland, and the Interpol had issued a red corner notice on this grounds.
"He was wanted for attempt to murder and rape in a 2012 case of two young women in Scotland. He had escaped from UK immediately after committing the crime and was staying in Chandigarh assuming a fake identity," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav to media.
The man reportedly escaped from UK after the incident. Further details are not available.
