An Indian worker was beheaded in Saudi Arabia on Thursday for the murder of his Saudi sponsor. Muhammad Latif had been convicted for the murder of Dhafir Al-Dossari, by a local court in the Gulf kingdom.

According to reports from the Interior Ministry, during a dispute Latif had killed the Saudi sponsor by hitting him fatally with an iron rod. After that he reportedly hid the victim's dead body in an an abandoned well.

Earlier the court had postponed Latif's execution till the time Dhafir's minor sons are old enough to consent to the execution verdict.

Saudi Arabia strictly follows Shariah law, which sentences crimes related to murder, rape, drug trafficking, apostasy and armed robbery with death sentence.
