Aruna Vishwanathan, an Indian-American was honored with 'Women in Business: Making a Difference Award' including the three women at the 19th annual Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACCGH) gala.
For the prominent part in entrepreneurship, innovation, economic development, and passion for community service, Vishwanathan, including two American women - Jewel Smith and Carlecia Wright - were among the people honored.
Viswanathan is the Chief Operating Manager at Alphax Decision Sciences, a company that evolves cloud infrastructure solutions, enterprise-scale predictive, and prescriptive artificial intelligence software.
The inbound investment award was granted to technology giant Wipro for its endeavors in advancing economic growth in the Greater Houston region.

The innovation award was presented to an organization - the Pumps and Pipes Society - that gathers experts from the fields of technology, medicine, and aerospace to breakthrough advanced results.
The awards were presented by Harris County Judge Ed Emmett and Consul General of India in Houston, Dr. Anupam Ray.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who led a trade mission to India in March, also attended the event. "The Indo-American Chamber Of Commerce continues to play a vital role in the economic success of not only Houston but the entire state of Texas," said Governor Abbott.
The happening was accompanied by Houston's topmost enterprise body, IACCGH associates and guests, and elected officials.
The event supports the Chamber's activities of advancing business growth, the creation of jobs in Houston and ease bilateral trade between Houston and India.
