First Curated Trail, Guided Tours Launched by St John’s Island

St John’s Island has officially launched First Curated Trail on Saturday, along with free guided tours lead by trained volunteers. The free guided tour will cover 1.6 kms and take visitors to 14 stations on Trail. 45 people can take part in each tour that lasts 90 minutes.

A map is also available on N’Parks if you want to explore the trail on your own. This Island has 2.8 kms Trail starting at the entrance of main jetty, has 15 stations marked out with sign boards. Visitors will see coastal forests and Coral reefs, and may spot many birds and reptiles.

During low tide, visitors can walk along the inter-tidal flat at the lagoon and look out for sea stars, sea cucumbers, crabs and marine snails. This trail also brings them too Marine Park Outreach and Education Center, where they can learn more about local marine life.

The tours will take place on first weekend of every month starting from October. Registrations will begin this Sunday Via the Sisters’ Islands Marine Park website.
