There was a strong opinion that fish cannot live on earth at least for hours without water, but the scientists at James Cook University have found a fish with both lungs and gills.

The organism can walk and breathe on the earth up to six days, the researchers termed this as a 'major disaster' for wildlife. The climbing perch can kill birds and larger fish by swelling up inside their windpipes and choking them, as per the report of Metro.

The mysterious fish is a native of Papua New Guinea, and the researchers and ecologists are warning that if the species populate in Australia, the balance of the habitat would be disrupted.

The scientists are reportedly monitoring the expansion of the wonder fish, for tackling the uncertain situations.
