The Australian film Strangerland after receiving good reviews and critics at the Sundance Film Festival and Nicole Kidman says her staring in the movie has taken her to a new level.

The 47-year old actress played as Catherine a mother feeling intense sorrow about two missing children, said was emotionally rich.

It was a chance to experience grief and sexuality, which was really compelling, the Australian actress told the New York Post's Page Six.  

I am in a stage of my life where I want to experience a lot of things, which I have never been to, she added.

The movie shot in Sydney, Canowindra and Broken Hill last March by the Australian co-production is feature film directorial feature for Australian television and documentary director Kim Farrant.

I've not worked with a first-time female director, I haven't worked on material like this,' Nicole also said at the premiere, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
