Emma Stone is likely to star in Broadway's 'Cabaret'. The actress is in negotiation with the filmmakers to join the cast.
The actress will play the role of Sally Bowles, which is currently played by Michelle Williams in her Broadway debut. Alan Cumming will reprise his role as Emcee in the revival of the Berlin-set musical.
Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall had directed the musical produced by Roundabout Theatre Company.
The Magic in the Moonlight actress is currently in negotiations to join Cabaret on Broadway, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Michelle Williams has be showcased in the musical till November 9. The limited shows playing at Studio 54 is scheduled to run till January 4, 2015.
The 1966 musical was set in a Berlin nightclub in the wake of rise to power of the Nazi Party.
Mendes revived the musical in 1993 at Donmar Warehouse in London, starring Cumming and Jane Horrocks. Later Mendes shifted the production to Broadway, retaining Cumming and Natasha Richardson got to play the role of Sally.
Marshall came on board as co-director and choreographer. The production ran 2,377 performances, before closing in January 2004. It even won four Tonys award.
