'Hellboy 3' will not happen after all, according to director Guillermo del Toro. The sci-fi superhero movie does not have studio backing for it to happen.

Creatively speaking, Guillermo said he would love to make it. But the project has proven to be impossible to finance.

Guillermo said if he was a multi-millionaire it would have financed it himself. But he spends all his money on rubber monsters, said the director. The project will need finance from a studio to bring it to life, he added.

The reason for no takers of 'Hellboy 3' was the loss from its first two instalments. Hellboy made at a budget of $66 million suffered a loss of over $6 million. While Hellboy II: The Golden Army fell short by $10 million from its production budget. It managed to earn $76 million.

Director Guillermo also had a plot in mind for the last instalment. According to the plot, 'Hellboy 3' would see the superhero demon transforming into a beast of the Apocalypse.

He had to become the most powerful to defend humanity from the Apocalypse. However, power would make him a beast turning him to a much darker being. The ending of the series is very interesting, but 'Hellboy 3' will happen rued Guillermo.
