Actor Delroy Lindo is all set to appear in the cast of Point Break reboot, Alcon Entertainment's version of the 1991 film. The remake will feature Edgar Ramirez and Luke Bracey in lead roles.
The Alcon Entertainment film revolves around a young FBI agent named Utah (played by Bracey). The agent goes undercover to try and prevent an organized gang of criminals from pulling off heists across the world.
Delroy Lindo will portray the character of Utah's instructor, who motivate the agent to pass training.
Ericson Core will direct the reboot film, which has been scripted by Kurt Wimmer. Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove will produce in association with John Baldecchi, Taylor and Wimmer.
RGM Media, John McMurrick and Chris Taylor sold the rights to produce Point Break to Alcon Entertainment.
Shooting for the film is scheduled to begin on June 26 in Germany, Austria, Italy, Mexico, Venezuela, French Polynesia and India.
Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves starred in the original film, which was directed by Kathryn Bigelow. The film, which $83.5 million worldwide, became a cult classic in 1991.
Recently, Lindo wrapped the filming for Cymbeline, which stars Ethan Hawke and Ed Harris. Lindo recently starred on Believe, Clockers, The Cider House Rules, Crooklyn, Wondrous Oblivion, Malcolm X, Romeo Must Die, Get Shorty and Devil’s Advocate.
